It was a mistake. I didn't check them out in advance. They were advertising on major New York City radio stations, WOR and WABC. I paid them, in full, in advance, to tell me the best way to settle my account with the IRS. Then, for 5 years I listened to them tell me "We are working in it", "It is in the works", "We will get back to you as soon as we have information for you." They never told me about a single contact or interaction that they made with the IRS in my behalf. Eventually I gave them an ultimatum and started legal action. They sent their high-powered lawyer to delay, and delay. The lawyer told the "court" that they were filing a "counter suit" that I would be required to answer. My legal costs were becoming more than my initial tax situation, so I dropped the case. Then, way too late, I checked them out on the internet and discovered that this appears to be a pattern with them. Below are links to similar cases that I found by doing just a cursory search of the internet. My guess is that if this is what I found easily, there are probably many other similar cases. I hope I can save others from bamboozled by Selig and Associates. |

I did some equity trading while in college and lost all the money and never filled for taxes. They told me how much i owed and i did all the paper work for the taxes. I wrote all the trades dates and amounts. The only thing they did was to sent a letter to the IRS that they represent me and then the IRS sent them the numbers. Then i worked for days putting everything together. We had a meeting they told me everything was good. When i first hire them on September 9 2013 i gave them 50% of the amount we had agreed which was $4000 for taking my case. They had told me that this was the first step. After filling the taxes they only called me after 2 months to ask for more money and no information about my case i gave them another $1500. Then after 2 months with no news for my case they called on January 15 and asked me for the rest of the amount. I was in shock i could not believe what i was hearing. Not only i never heard anything from them regarding my case they took most of the money and showed me nothing. As a customer the only thing i asked was to see some progress on my case. I am taking them to court I WAS NEVER TREATED IN SUCH AN UNPROFESSIONAL MANNER. These guys increase payment in the end. - I paid $2000, Bradley Dorin who was supposed to take care of my files . - After payment made they don't even pick a call or return call of voicemail. So I decided to visit their office without appoint. I met Bradley asked what's going on about not pick up call then he told me to send them checks of payment to IRS and said will reduce tax payment in the end. They send IRS my checks later than due and that made more penalty. I decided to send directly to IRS so that will get there before due. The other day I asked about how is file about appeal, then Bradley said he's going to process. 6 months past, then no reply. I tried call and left voice mail so many times but they didn't call back. Finally they called back, I asked about process and their reply was they can't reduce no payment. They didn't do nothing. Just caused more late penalty. |
